YELLOWRED

In her series YELLOWRED, Magalie explores architecture from two complementary perspectives: as a unique photographic subject of an attentive gaze and as material for sculptural exploration.

Where others walk by, Magalie sees symmetry, rhythm, and color. She focuses on buildings that no one notices and reveals a beauty within them that depends on the gaze of the attentive observer, not on the building itself.

In her collages, her approach shifts from observation to intervention. Inspired by the color codes found in architectural plans – red for demolition, yellow for renovation – she dismantles fragments of facades and spaces to reassemble them. Architecture is detached from its context and revived as an autonomous form within the picture plane, balancing between recognition and abstraction.
